Trouble is, most beginning players don’t understand what a sound strategy is simply because they’re focused on the wrong thing…busting some heads.

Yes, battling can be fun and rewarding, but one who is unprepared for battle or takes on battles he is not ready for, is a fool.

So to begin with…know your limitations. If you’re a level one Scout with just a dagger in your hand, you want to be VERY careful about who you confront…no matter what level the character is at. You are the most vulnerable character in the game at this point and can be easily killed. So pick your battles very carefully.

In addition to that, you want to make sure that you do everything you can to prepare yourself for battle such as completing Work Orders, equipping yourself properly, and getting as much Kinah as you can. It is much easier to buy the items you need than it is to kill somebody for them…especially at the lower levels.

Next, you don’t want to become the town bully right off the bat. They say you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. It is quite true. So what you want to do is make friends…lots of them. If you are a Priest, you want to make friends with a Warrior, somebody who can fight your battles for you. If you are a Warrior, make friends with a Priest…somebody who can heal you.

Another strategy to succeed in Aion online gameplay is to form a solid group as soon as possible. Groups have a much better chance of success than a single character groping in the dark. There is strength in numbers. Don’t ever forget that.

For starters, if you’ve got the bucks, spring for the Collector’s Edition of the game. It comes with some bonus items that will make completing quests a whole lot easier. Yes, some of the items you won’t be able to use until after level 9, but once you can, you will see what a HUGE difference they make.

If you don’t want to go that route, there are other things you can do.

Probably one of the most important, and something players don’t take advantage of enough, is Work Orders. Work Orders, unlike quests, can be done over and over. Why would you want to do this? Because completing Work Orders gives you more experience and helps level you quicker. This in turn makes it easier to complete quests because your character is stronger. Don’t ignore Work Orders.

Another thing you will probably want to do is get the official Aion Quest Guide. Yeah, I know…another way for these guys to make a buck. But trust me. As a long time gamer (going back to the original D&D on floppy disk) quest guides are almost a must.

The reason is because there are so many and the in game info for the quests is almost nil. Truth is, you can waste valuable time just trying to figure quests out. With the guide, you know what quest you need, where it is and what you have to do to finish it…quickly. It’s worth the few bucks to have this advantage.

Finally, and this is so important, don’t allow yourself to be distracted. Take one quest at a time and finish it before moving onto the next one. If, however, you find that you are having trouble completing a quest, go back and do a Work Order. This will give you more XP and hopefully get you up another level. There are some quests that you’re simply not going to be able to complete with weak characters.

Like it or not, a weak character is going to have a difficult time surviving the Aion universe. A Priest/Cleric is going to have the toughest time getting through to level 50. They have the weakest fighting ability and the weakest fighting spells. Sure, if you want a challenge, you can try going with a Priest and see how you do.

However, if you want to give yourself a better chance of getting through this alive, you’re better off going with either a Warrior or a Mage. These are the most powerful characters in Aion. However, if you put me up against a wall with a gun to my head, I’d say go with the Warrior…but not by much. The Mage has some darn powerful spells that can really kick butt at higher levels.

I will say one thing about Scouts even though they are not my first choice. They have the advantage of being able to use long range weapons, which means that they don’t have to get up close to their enemy to do damage. Sometimes, this alone can be a life saver.

The key, however, to any character you create, is the skills that you develop. If you’re going to give yourself the best chances of surviving, I recommend weaponsmithing and armorsmithing. They say that the best defense is a good offense. Well, the best defense is also some sturdy armor that keeps swords and other nasty items from penetrating your body.

Kinah is the currency of the game, just like our regular money. A very good strategy is to try to get as much of this as you can so that you can buy all the things that you need to advance levels.

But how do we make the most of this? Are there some keys to getting more Kinah out of your Aion game play? The answer is a resounding YES.

For starters, don’t pass up anything at all…no matter how small. If you see a dead mob laying in the street, loot them for every Kinah they have. It doesn’t matter how little there is. Over time, they will add up…and quickly.

Any enemy drops that you find, no matter how unimportant, pick them up and sell them. It doesn’t matter if you only get one or two Kinah from them. Again, these will add up over time.

If you run into any in game NPCs looking for items that you don’t need any longer, sell them. Again, it doesn’t matter for how much. The item is worthless to you anyway.

Any crafted items that you have, if you don’t need them, sell them. Anything that is of no use to you, may be of some value to somebody else. There is no sense in hanging onto it. Sell it and get what you can for it.

Set up your own private store so that other players can buy from you. Trust me on this…if you get enough traffic coming through your store, the Kinah can add up…FAST.

Go hunting whenever you can. There are creatures out there that have magical loot that is worth a lot. You can sell these items for much Kinah. The battles may be tough, in some cases, but the rewards will be substantial.

These basic tips should give you plenty of Aion Online Gold, that is Kinah, to start with and see you through most of the game.

I started using an Aion Spiritmaster leveling guide when I saw that it was pretty difficult to use a class that had many spells and not many people around to tell me how to use them. Since this class is a caster class, you can’t afford to keep a monster on you while you hover your cursor over your skills to see which spell to use because you’ll die. Stigmas can imbue your class with special abilities making it more versatile and efficient. At level twenty you do a quest which allows you to equip 2 stigmas. As you progress so will the number of stigma slots you can use, up to 5 at level 50. I saw in my Aion Spiritmaster leveling guide that at level 20 and beyond you should have these two stigmas, Bind Flesh and Absorb Life. Bind Flesh will swap the players threat level with the summoned pet and Absorb Life will damage the target while stealing HP for the caster.

So, the best way to level up is to use the Earth pet, even though it does more damage. But by using the following rotation, you can make sure he deals damage and you wont need any down time.

Send pet to attack, send spirits, Chain of Earth, Erosion, by this time the target should be coming after you, Spirit Erosion if you have it, Spirit Disturbance, deals a lot of damage so the mob should go back to hitting the pet, Spirit Thunderbolt Claw, Spirit Threat and the mob should be dead.

This method I found in the Aion Spiritmaster leveling guide is very good because you play around with the target so none of you get hit that much. Just keep some distance between you and the target. You can also use this type of skill usage for the Fire pet, but you’ll see that after several kills you’ll have to heal him.
